Installed the basement doors yesterday.  They are 9' wide and 8' high.

I figure this is due for an update.  Progress has been slow, I got married on the 15th and went away for a honeymoon to Mexico.

Garage painted, lights hung and garage door installed.  I still need to install the opener, I just got a Craftsman 3/4hp opener:

Door from the outside.  Its crazy cause the door has an insulation value of R18.  So the door has pretty much the same R value as the walls.  Should hold the heat good in the winter

Installed 2 hunter 42" fans in the 2 bedrooms:

Also started on paint:

That's all for now.  Picking out paint colors has been such a fucking pain in the ass.  May start on kitchen cabinet install tomorrow.

I got all the kitchen cabinets in the house today and laid out. Going to start hanging the wall cabinets tomorrow

Also bought a mailbox today. I got the cheapest one I could find cause the punkass kids are probably just going to use it as a target.  Debating if I should cement it in or just dig a hole and be done with it

Looks real good. I always wanted to buy a normal sized mailbox and slide it in a large mailbox and pour concrete around it and mount it on a post.

4" sch40 pipe with 3/8" plate mailbox on top. The only thing kids are going to get is broken bats, and vibrating hands.  O0

I always wanted to mount the mailbox on a real low friction bearing so it could swivel and attach a pipe 90 degrees from the mailbox so when someone hit it, it would swing and hit there car back.

It is nice to see it when its finished but cutting 2x4's is a lot less stressful than cutting a finished filler piece for a cabinet.  Much like working on a car I like the mechanical stuff more than bodywork and paint.  This finish work is too much like bodywork...

We actually did much worse.  I don't think I ever hit a mailbox with a baseball bat but I did kick the door open in my buddies beater car and hit one.  The window frame caught on the mailbox and ripped the whole car into the ditch and the window frame was bent so bad we couldn't close the door.  Luckily the car was meant for stuff like that so it was just funny as hell

when I was a kid I had the janitor's keys to a local mall... I'm surprised I didn't end up in jail
also broke into the local elementary school cafeteria and stole and empty cash register and like 6 chocolate milks each.

Ok, here's the wife in her closet:

Kitchen halfwall has drywall on it:

Big stuff like tile and trim are coming soon so here's what I'm working with.  Here's the bathroom between the 2 bedrooms, will probably be the kids bathroom.  We put a fiberglass shower surround in for ease of cleaning:

Master bath.  The shower is just a 7ft high L shaped wall.  Walk in with no door

Have to frame up a sex bench and form the shower floor:

Put in a whirlpool tub.  Nothing crazy, just a 5'x36" It seems a lot of bathrooms they put in a huge tub that you use once then it just turns into a waste of space.  I put in a smaller tub so I could have a bigger shower because that's what I'm going to use everyday:

Starting on all the cement board tomorrow

Yeah, the whole shower and around the tub will be tile.  Also both bathroom floors, the kitchen floor, eat-in kitchen floor, and the laundry room are tile.  The master bath and kitchen will be a travertine tile, the laundry room will be a slate and the other bath is like a modernish porcelain...don't think it looks like any stone.  I'm putting carpet in all 3 bedrooms and her closet.  The rest of the house will be hardwood.  Not sure what species, the top runners are Cherry or Walnut

should have gone with the black dildo.
I had a big tub and decent sized shower at my house in vegas and I loved them both. neither were fancy or anything, just normal new construction crap.
