well just pulled all the pistons out... shit really looks the same as i put it together. none of the rings are broken. pistons look fine other than the oil on top of them... except there is a little debris on #2&3

on the top ringlands. dont worry about that shit on the skirt, just dust getting on the oil, wiped right off.
there was a little like 1mm square spec on both pistons, one had it on intake and exhaust. didnt really notice any big scratches in the cylinders.

kinda wanna just throw some rings in this motor and run it... but idk wtf? didnt smoke in my homies car. now it smokes like a train.

I have 2 local deals pending for non-vtec head. both have Crower springs/ti retainers. waiting on info on cams.
both are suppose to be good off running motors.

then I'll buy some NPR rings and eBay HG... oh found some Jewish ARP headstuds. so might as well get them in to...

so i have been buying shit...

TOOLS:

dingle ball hone

valve spring compressor. this thing is pretty cool. used on on a Kseries motor. worked well.

i thought this was badass. ;DDD   didnt even say it came with, or i didnt notice.

you have to move this one around a little once its mounted. but still was quick and easy.

PARTS:

hit up mizumo for another headgasket (was seriously gonna reuse mine, but this was 20bucks) and some new NPR rings of course

normally i dont use ARP studs, but i got these for free, i think. ill probably owe him something later lol.

CROWER Titanium retainers and dual valve springs.  :)    still waiting on cams. the junk PR4 head that these where in had OEM cams.

still waiting on some people to come threw on some parts both buying and selling... im going to be changing several things on this setup. turbo, intercooler, bov, pipes... will update as i have parts/pics...

first off, fuck how hard is it to tell the fuckin weather? suppose to be low 70s. which im ok working in... it hit little over 80 today. people really go to school to do that shit? FAIL.

forgot about this stupid fuckin thing...

GReddy 3" SP? GP? Dunk? forgot, some 1999 shit. anyway its full 3" piping and i owe someone like 40bucks for the whole thing. so, ehh. PROJECT JEW EK, you have exhaust  :Jew:

yup. ready for action.

hone putting in some sexy scratches

pistons, rods, ARP's, etc, etc.
yes. some of the ARPs are old style, some are new... lol :Jew:

got the rods all torqued down. tray and pan all cleaned and reinstalled. hondabond'ed the shit out of the oil return  :mexi:  and i even put on the flywheel inspection cover cuz my buddy went out of the way to make sure i had it lol.
spun it over a turn or 2. seems to spin smooth. put it at TDC... waiting to finish headwork....

why the fuck is this project full of "well this is new..." wtf's?

pinched this oil ring when installing the pistons.  :-X ehh. swapped over another old one i had.

forgot i was gonna update this yesterday...ehh...

so i was thinking about this clutch. it just wasnt felling right. so i bleed it some more with no progress. then i decided to make sure the fucker wasnt leaking, it was crusty as shit? but no leak. so i just adjusted the pushrod...all the way to the end. fells a million times better, and the car will probably actually move now if i tried.... but im thinking i may need a CMC in the near future.

and this is how rhmt nigs lap in some valves...  O0

btw. i love my Makita drill and impact. probably best purchase ever.

i was noticing this when i was cleaning the head for install... detonation pitting? i dont remember seeing it before when putting the motor together....not sure i cared then...or now... wonder if it was from the 20mins of run time with it smoking and shit? its got like 3yo gas in it?!?!

anyway. i threw the head on, but couldnt torque it down. im still missing 1 ARP nut...fuck...

bought a turbo. should be here this weekend.

That does look like signs of det in your cylinder head.   Love the flexy approach to lapping valves and +1 for getting a flex hone.  Those 3 arm ones are a pain in the ass sometimes.

Looking good! Whats left to do?

I should make a new list.

rebuild turbo <~turbo is junk. tried every combo that doesnt involve my working turbo
get cams <~ found, bought, installed
ARP nut <~ found, bought, installed (sold extra nut making this free)
install cams/belt/valve adjust <~still need to do valves. dont like doing them.
install intake manifold <~reused gasket....  :-X
buy new intercooler <~lazy, dont care, fuckit.
hackup car for intercooler <~didnt change intercooler. but did beat it with a BFH for clear current.
make new pipes <~thinking of swapping some shit off the CRX kit before selling it
buy bov <~thinking of swapping some shit off the CRX kit before selling it
install exhaust...then make it fit.  <~fuck. hope it fits. didnt try yet.
battery tray <~ found, bought, installed.
and battery <~ still need this...
...
...
...
install/clean interior  <~almost there...
find/install bumper <~ may have found a hood, bumper, bumper beam...all in silver :)

off the top of my head. sure there is more...

shit on hand written list a couple days later...

oil
coolant
install downpipe
oil in/out
chargepipes?
distibutor
map sensor?!?!
wheels...havent even take a pic of these yet?
radio <~found, bought, installed
fuck do i have speakers? nope
steering wheel is loose!!
shift knob?
ignition lock fixed...mostly
heater box  <~found, bought, installed
kill switch?
hood cable

i bought a radio off guy at work. his wife got a new CRV, this was under his desk for MONTHS. he finally was like you want this? 50bucks? perfect.

i like pioneer decks... this will be mounted down low in the cupholder bitch by the shifter.

also scored a subwoofer off another guy at work. Sundown Auidio 12" dvc 4ohm? idk. it hit hard and clean. so i snagged it.

went to the junkyard on the sole mission to actually find some shit.
needed a battery mount/tray/stand thing to put battery on. and i even found a silver one with no rust :)
side skirt <~fail.
radio plug for more OEM fit.
and...

proper OEM AC delete box... you would think that would be easy with it fitting a DC/EG/EK... people in seattle are fuckin pussies. looked like the last 4+ times out at this yard.

i found some cams. was ok deal. wasnt much jew room. but they are what i think i need. so...

Brian Crower stage 2 turbo cams... BC0021's.... Brain lists the same specs as dad's 63402t's

cleaning

measured this POS turbo i have since i guess im using it forsure. (mounted on car again) also cleaned it up while i was measuring it.

its small. forgot what i found that was closest... but its smaller than a 50trim... probably flows >40lbs. fucker better make some kind of power...

idk. thats all i got for pics...

i have been cleaning and putting interior back together. took my ignition lock out cuz it was fuckin useless! it didnt lock the steering wheel. used a different key than the doors. etc. so i took it out and apart. re-keyed it. cut a new key while i was at it. works fuckin MINT! even locks the column...in one direction..  :-\  gonna fuck with it a little more. but one direction works for me. honda locks are stupid easy to break anyway.

reminds me. it has a 2way alarm. need to look that over. probably look at securing this thing a little better also. gonna be parked inside soon anyway. but yeah.

about done, need another drink...

That looks like a t04b wheel, but the smallest S-trim is 50mm inducer and only flows 36lb/min. The H1C has a 46mm inducer, but the 8-blade wheel also has convoluted (curved/sweeping) tips. I'd expect a fast spooling turbo that flows less than 36lb/min.

today...

i changed the oil in the Galant before leaving work.  :noel:

oh yeah... snagged this before leaving.

new OEM battery, bolts, and hold down plate. baller.  O0

installed... thats blurry...  :?:

before installing the battery i  O0 :mexi: :Jew: rigged that fucker to the unknown fuel pump to pump hopefully about half a tank of some 3+yo gas out the tank.
got ~4gallons.

then i decided to verify what pump was in the car since i was so damn close.

that looks pretty sexy, no?

looks like it says Walbro GSS341.... too lazy to look it up, maybe later.

then temp threw it back in...

gonna drain this gas into dump at work, then try to remember to snag up 5g...or maybe another gas can (these are baller, but $25ea), and 10g of E85 on the way home.... probably saturday...

fuck im gonna smell like gas all night.

btw. big evo 16g flows 36lb/min... those make 280-350? it seems. so maybe not too far off my plan... injectors on e85 still only good for 300whp... so I'm on point.

A 40trim t04e is 47.4mm, but they only came with 6/12 fins and were curved/convoluted. An 8-fin wheel usually flows less than a 6-fin compressor if inducer diameters are equal, same thing for straight vs convoluted tips. If it's a stg3 turbine, it won't matter as much.

so i got some work done today/yesterday.

i rewired my fuel pump... <~doesnt work. then when my dumbass tried to jumper it, i blew the only fuse i had for that holder.  ::)

curious how this doesnt work?!?! i did it the same way i have done everyother car. but i used the same wire i had in the CRX that just stopped working on day? i jumpered it back to stock, then it worked. same with the EK this morning. WTF?

power directly off the battery - fuse holder w/50a - wire to - relay - straight to pump terminal.
ground to chassis - straight to fuel pump terminal

connections are crimped, soldered, shrink wrapped. wire looks to be in good condition.... power and ground must be good to the relay, cuz it blew the fuse promptly lol.

positive wire is 8g stereo/amp wire.  negative is 10-12g wire from ignition switch harness.

i hacked up a CROME map that AJ sent me a long ass time ago. for different size injectors, map, etc. and im running E85...

well my math works.....i guess? started after like half a crank! lol.

couple of random pics.

still needs some work. needs plates. need washed/cleaned.
