ok so once again at my buddies house. he is convinced that i will be overpowering the chassis. and i really dont doubt what he is saying. just that my plan isnt to have traction and i wont be twisting this popcan up. then on top of that i have never driven a high hp rear driver... so my plan is for a 5.3 with boost ready cam/springs, maybe cheap headers if they fit. and to drive that to sort me and the car out. but he said if im doing that i can just throw some parts at the 350 and make the same power, easier. and still build turbo LS anyway for later.

so plan that seems best/easiest/cheapest:
52-63cc heads bumping comp to 9.8-10.5:1
headers (like $150)
holley 700 (sell the edelbrock) $150-180
cam/lifters (cheap, 80-150... think he said close to .500 lift)
springs if head doesnt have them ($30)
gasket kit (50-80)

idk. kinda like that plan. if it gets me to 300-350hp. ill have some fun till i put together a turbo LS anyway. and i can do this in a weekend and enjoy the summer in the NOVA.

Waste of money IMO. Just get the ls and swap it this winter. Enjoy the nova the way it is right now.

slow as ballz the way it is now. doesnt even go WOT without the eldbrock shutting you down. if i can spend 500-800bucks, and rock that out till i get everything sorted. maybe 5 months, maybe a year?

hell. maybe i can do this in baby steps anyway. buy/swap to the Holley, along with headers when i do the front end... etc. pull the heads when and if i find a deal worth it?... kinda like that.

i can always sell this crap for what i pay for it also.

Turbo blow through 350, 10lbs will turn you out...

I would just fix the carb, Edelbrocks in my experience are super easy to adjust. Holley's have more adjustment, but you better know what you are doing.

I wonder if that 50 year old powerglide will handle any of that power the way it sits or are you going to have to do a bunch of work to it?

most people seem to say holley>edelbrock... maybe I'll make an effort to get this thing dialed before buying anything.

buddy Bryan would be my main helper on shit like this. so goes back to asking your tuner what engine management to use.

if I can get this to do a solid smoke show I would be fine for a while I'm sure. lots of suspension and interior to work.

I'm all over the charts even more than normal I'm sure. I just have so many options. there are just a million ways to skin this cat....

Holley > Edlebrock if you are good with carb's and are going racing. For a DD / Carb newb an Edlebrock will be way easier to get dialed in.

forget that lots of my talking is in the beach house and not in my post...

those are the wheels im looking at. 17x7 17x8, aluminum Rally wheels. REV Classic 107 Wheels to be specific. they have silver center, machined lip (no beauty rings), and "police" center caps. they dont come with caps, but i think i found some cheap ones that are stainless steel without bowtie, so i can hit them with green/red scotchbrite and give them a nice bushed finish... i dont like shiny things so much. i know, muscle car guys love there polished/chome shit, fuckem. i dont care.

I agree. Won't have mine ready for the road until next summer I guessing. Was just gonna slam mine together but decided to slow my build down and just do it 1 time and then be done.

found these on CL...

215-45-17 and 245-45-17
hope the rears fit... but even if they dont i got mad  :Jew: dealz... lol.. $40... in total, for all 4.  :Jew:

also went to the JY over the weekend cuz AJ has been talking brakes.

got me some 12" dual piston 98-01 Camaro brakes... like $60 for all that.

so i was looking under the Nova to see what the tires have to compete against. well there is fuckloads of room in the fenders it looks like. i think i can go way lower, and wider both ways on the tires, as long as they are low pros with little sidewall flex. plus the rear fender lips look to be made of tin can thin metal, so shouldnt have a probably rolling them for another 10-12mm.

also while i was under there i took a good look (and pics):

looks like some kind of aftermarket sway bar. i didnt notice any markings. kid i got the car from told me surprisingly little about the car...

wheels... soon...  :Jew:

ok, so here is the front disc conversion the last owner did.

looks like metric calipers and 10.5-11" rotors.

the mini moon/police caps i bought.

still think im gonna scuff them up for brushed look.

***ISSUE!***

so, fronts i checked and i get 6.5-7 full turns. just a little bit wider than the width of the stud. which is about half the lug nut. rears look like about a thread less. those look easy to replace.

that legit??

Those actually look pretty good on there. I've always seen your hub caps called "poverty caps"
You need longer studs, those will kill you lol

see. this is where the car ends up sitting and waiting... i dont want to spend money and time (plus its sunny and hot as balls) on shit im going to be throwing away in a couple months.

its gonna cost me 50+bucks for studs and probably have to go to 4 auto parts stores.
springs are gonna be 80bucks plus waiting a week.
