its possible.... it smashed this ring gear the weekend i put the limiting straps on... and it broke nice and hard...didn't even roll out of the beam. but to the point the slicks weren't balanced, so tire shake is possible, no wheel hop.

but i'm pretty sure the backup tranny just broke the diff pin/spider assembly.

I have also lended my thoughts to the idea that welding the diff with the ring gear on brittled that bitch up... still rock solid gear set, thanks again chad.

already swapped, need new diff bearing, and to pull the trans that's in the car.

anyone know if this bearing ntn tmb208cz is available commercially or if its one of those gay OEM protected bearings like the ISB was??

is this a good number? 6208 ZZ C3 SRI2

+1 it reduces the shock on the drivetrain when you launch since the "slack" is taken up.

well after 17 years, honda still has OEM propriety rights on their bearings, it pisses me right off you shouldn't be allowed to do so for so long.I mean its a 12$ shielded roller bearing MAYBE if that! FUCKING smart business men, dammit.
