Talked to him the other day. Said he has it running, but has to do a cam swap. Only pulling 6" vac at idle is making a bitch to even idle he said.

sorry guys been lazy posting pics and shit... quick update.. yes did cam swap and thats done then starter decided to shit bed and eat up flexplate. parts ordered and should recieve today.. reinstall and finally should be able to run it off the jacks this sun. then i will update with all new pics and shit... the car sounds fantastic and iam pumped..

alpha-n does not su[pport boost..need speed density, hence the cam swap... removed ionner valve springs and broke in the cam.. then reinstalled inner's and ran it once when the starter shit... it did pull 14in at idle 1000 rpm..should work.. went from 108 lsa to 113 lsa.. lil less intake dur and lift .507 284d and .525 306 d exh. idles way smoother... more to come

so previously stated needed a cam swap ... went with the comp cams .507 284 in/.525 306 113 lsa. needed to remove inner valve springs for break in steps.. use air to seat valves..

worked like fucking a slutty stripper in vegas...

all in order and proper holes..

then i just repeat process for reinstalling springs...

broke the bitch in 2500 rpm for 29 mins with occassional burps to splash oil; on cam yada yada

then starter took a shit .. and ate flywheel up.. as stated.. starter cracked the shoulder leaving it to move a tad and ate the fuck out of the flexplate.. and it would not disengage.. trouble

flexplate damage... it was old and been through 3 starters..

and new starter..

so now iam waiting here on a rainy friday waiting for my flexplate to arrive.. since the first one they sent wrong..gotta love summit shit is 2 days out on orders..

this how to remove flexplatre with tranny still in car.. move the tranny back 2in and viola...

now here's the final engine setup..

now i will try and putt this bitch around the block this sun. sat is shot i have a family deal..errr

need to dial it in and hope shits good before i trailer it 90 miles to lynnhood.. may need help on the tune?...

not yet... just finished up the resoldering the battery lead to starter.. didnt work on it yesterday.. duidnt feel well.

well got it run pretty damn good so far with the working 2 bar... finally took her around the block last night.. seems to run good.. now just need to clean up the map and hope for the best...lol burnout vids soon to come!!!!

and yes ryan, this lil whore has been acting up at the wrong times!.. ill wrestle her down though

Should have called the Grand Wizard, happy to have given some advice... I just did a speed density Procharged 454 that pulled 5" at idle, had an electric vacuum pump for the brake booster. Drives and idles great at all temps.

5" at idle surprises me that you didn't go tps. Was it not an option or am I too inexperienced? I haven't dealt with a cam that big yet

As someone else stated, you can't do that to a boosted car.

I get the feeling there might be a parts combo conflict here that wasn't exactly the cam. Trying to idle too low an rpm (which can be bad for a big mechanical lash cam, i so equipped), or the wrong converter loading the motor and causing issues when dropped into gear.

People hate to gear it, but converters are fucking critical to getting a RWD car out of the hole. A serious build usually requires 3-6 converter changes, working with a good converter guy, before you find what the car wants. You ready to bleed some money and pull some trannies, bro?

well guys sorry for the lack of updates.. been super busy at work and other things... to bring you fella s up to speed..

aug 9th went to pacific raceways for a tnt session.. had a hell of a time passing tech .. master switch was being a wierdo.. finally passed and first run of the night pushed the hgs out.. lol

the car pulled hard until the hg shit.. ran a 10.188 @ 100.21 .. 6.19 116 @ the 1/8th.. soon as i hit 3rd gear the rad hose popped off and lifted..

so ordered .060 cometics and arp 12 pt studs... more to come...
