Wow... lots of replies... where to begin.. lemme see if I can answer all without looking back and in one fell swoop.
This car is being rocked in the bay... but we have ALOT of tuning to do before she will be known where/who =P How many others here are swimmin in the bay too?
Brazed? Hell yeah... Bronze rods are WAAAAAAY cheaper than mig wire =P plus... they bond ANYTHING =D
Somehow I was wishing for a front-page type deal on this one.. but thats a HMT thing... which brings me to my next answer:
This is a real HMT.. My friend was wanting to turbo his DX since I did my turbo and turbo/supercharged D15. A while back I was given a deadline to get all my car parts out of where they were being stored.. so I moved them to this guys house. He had been eyeballing my old junk manifold for days, and thinking of using it for a "fuck-it" setup on his car.... so we hit pick n pull and found one good turbo... this little bastard out of a non-intercooled Volvo.
Sucker came off the car with little effort, so we knew it had to have been replaced sometime within the last10-20K of the car's life.
From there it was just cutting/hacking, a trip to ACE hardware for the PVC and glue... and a stop by Kragens/O'Rieleys to get an oil feed line. But... we had a dillema...
They don't make brass fittings the thread of that banjo... not at all.. we checked all of ACE's fittings, and auto-shops around the area and found nadda. So.. we figured, we better make it match that manifold.
anyways, we hacked up a DP for a cast manifold and a T3 super60 I have had lying around, and decided to slap it all in on a saturday when he was off work.
ok.. time to read back.. haha
The shoes are the owner of the car's... not mine... lol
The DP.. it is TUCKED. No way in holy hell it will ever break or hit the ground... I doubt that would be possible.
ok..
I guess Ill leave the responses at that for now... gotta jet to work =)
