What are you going to do with the 6.5:1 CR setup?  Evo8 turbo cranked all the way up on 87 octane and piss, or something bigger?

Once I get the motor done Im dropping the car off at Dan Phan's so he can wire up the car obd1 baller style then off to macco for a 300 dollar paint job. I have mostly everything I need to make it happen just a matter of motivation and time. I have 3 cars/builds that are all about the same level of having parts so we will see which one I actually finish.

Well I said fuck it and just threw the old vc on for now. Ill deal with the catch can shit later. Im thinking of doing a drain back from the can to black box. I just need to keep making foreword progress. Ive pulled my valve cover off 6 times in the last few days and its getting kinda old.  :-\ Need to do work and keep thriving to get shit done to keep my motivation up.

 Recirc it (the drain) to the TOP OF THE FRONT of the pan . It will keep it from getting the drain port plugged by oil slosh on acceleration (if you recirc at the rear of the block-like all the guys that complain about the endyn cans overflowing at the track but not on the dyno). I do it this way, so do DRQPQUT, and Mitch..... Also, under acceleration... The drain serves as a 3rd crankcase breathing port to the can since all of the oil is sloshed against the back of the block

I didnt put my drain on the back of the block after thinking about people complaining about their cans filling up with the ENDYN kit. I use the same MOROSO can, and have absolutely 0 issues this way... Everyone else Ive told about it that has done it has 0 issues too... But ya need to baffle that can son!!!   :yes:

The can does NOT need to be higher than the VC... Neither do the ports.

The can needs to be baffled, and a drain recirc-ed to the pan....   I havent changed a filter on my catch can in over a year and its still white as hell. Its working and its LOW the TOP of the filter is lower than the chargepipe entering the throttle body.

Not even a hint of oil anywhere on the firewall.

I said baffle the valve cover and put the can higher than the valve cover, then it won't fill up with oil (read, work like it's supposed to) and there will be no need to add an oil drain from it to the oil pan. Seems dumb to have to plumb it back to the pan. From what others have said, when it's working properly, the little bit of oil it does catch you want to just drain off (because it has acids, moisture, etc in it).

In a perfect world maybe.. In the real world... It needs to be recirced. The VC is baffled in the front on B series, the h is baffled on the rear of the cover. Its not enough. Period man.  I dont worry about the oil as I change mine every 1500-1600 miles. The condensation is about 0 as well....

How the fuck is it contaminated when it is from a closed system?

Let it recirc, and the condensation will boil out just like the condensation in you pan does.

When the mix ignite, the cylinder doesn't seal perfectly and a small amount of gas/water is going into the oil pan no?

Gas goes into the oil, oil evaporates it and it goes into the catch can. It's not a closed system since you'll have more and more contamination (relatively small) in the oil.

That's how I see it... Maybe I'm wrong, but I still don't think that it a good idea to drain back from my catch can. It's more an opinion than a fact.

Its an opinion. Yes, There is a bit of validity to it, but its NOWHERE NEAR as big of a deal with it as you're making it out to be. I make ALOT more power than you, I'm SURE beat the shit out of my car ALOT harder than you ALOT more frequently than you... and dont have ANY issues....  If you can see that you have water in your oil youve got another problem.  My car gets raped repetedly then parked for periods of time and I have NEVER EBVER noticed any milky sludge or any other iota of any type of contamination.  SHit it doesnt even smell, nor is there anything (oil) on the filter...


But Leed calls it a miracle motor... HAHAHAH

As there are 12562344803522 other people tha dont have the issue, Id be fairly comfortable saying there is NOTHING that your motor would suffer from having the same setup thats working for everyone else.

The same process happens on every single IC piston engine in existence.  Why do you think that oil changes are necessary?

I drive mine in the snow and it's a daily driver tho... :P

When you make some real power, it becomes possible to evacuate the oil pan into the catch can within three third gear pulls.  Francis, will you be draining your catchcan back into the engine or will you let the engine starve for oil?

Last night I installed caps on my cold side charge pipe and pressurized it. Held 20psi with a super slow leak from my caps. So its good to go. Just need to clean and paint it.

Today I got the oil drain mocked up. Fucking ebay oil return flange that bolts to the turbo said it was 1/2 npt, when I tried to screw a barbed fitting into it, it didnt fit. So I borrowed a 1/2" tap and taped it out to the right size. It must have been btp and not npt. I also drilled the holes in the oilpan for the return flange(same as the oil return flange on the turbo), and now I just need to clean it up. But im gona wate on that untill i figure out where the hell Im gona put my drainback from my catch can.

So the plan for this weekend is do and oil change, drill and weld an o2 bung in my downpipe, build an adapter to go from my 3" dp to my aftermarket, 2 3/8" exhaust. (just for the time being) And if I have time, clean and paint my charge pipes. Also would like to clean out my intercooler again, just to make sure I got all the chunks of aluminum out when I cut the tanks for the 3" pipes, and hit it with another coat of low gloss black.

Garage is kinda a mess, but Im getting shit done! Did and oil change.


Bolted the turbo in to check fitment on everything again.



Put my O2 bung in the downpipe.


And made my cat/test pipe to run my exhaust thats on the car for now, and in a few weeks finsh up my stainless steel 3" at Malichite's house. Here is a shot of them in all there glory. With a shot of my homemade charge pipe leak tester.....lol


So Tomorrow im gona head to the hardware store and pick up a few bolts, and odds and ends, and also pick up some hose for my oil return line and put my oil feed line on. Then Im gona clean and flush my charge pipes, and throw a coat of paint on them. And get them bolted on and do a little tuning with my boost cut set at 1.5psi.....lol

Well fuck, I pulled all the turbo shit off today because I wasnt done, and I need to drive the car to work tomorrow. So back to trying to get it done sometime this week after work each day. Got the chargepipes all cleaned and prepped for paint. Flushed out the intercooler 1 last time, found out that my firering for my wastegate is the wrong size. Cut some cardboard up and taped it together as a mock up catchcan.

So tomorrow im gona paint the cold side chargepipe, and get some more gas for the welder, and some sheetmetal for the new catch can.

FWIW, when I bought my IC, it looked clean (it was new, second hand) so I tapped up the inlet and outlet to keep it clean. When I was finally ready to use it (like 6 months later...) I used a water hose to flush it out and then a leaf blower to dry it. Worked great and it only took like 5 minutes to wash and dry it.

Protip: Don't paint your IC pipes in the dark.  :P

well I used the hose and sprayed the fuck out of both of them, then I brought them in the garage, and ran some papeer towles through the intercooler pipes. GOna throw a coat of paint on them tomorrow.
