Well, I did this about 3 weeks ago and I got frustrated with how it's coming out so I haven't touched it in a while. So here it sits. Probably fuck around with it this weekend or early next week.

Oh, I sold my plasma cutter. Got $700 for it. So I've been on the hunt for a ac/dc tig. Found one last weekend. Miller syncrowave 200, and 2 125cf bottles, and 10lbs of rod for $1200. But the dude never emailed me back and then when he did it was to tell me that it was sold. I hate it when people post on craigslist don't put a phone number up. Just a email.

So I'm still on the hunt for a tig.

Slow progress, but progress none the less. Got both sides welded up. No I'm mocking up turbo placement for one of the turbos. Might try and get some more done on monday.

Well besides heat wrapping it, I'm done with the passenger side manifold. Staying true to my hmt roots with whitey bends. Going from cast iron to stainless to mild and then back to stainless steel. All with a harbor freight mig.....

Thanks guys. Will probably be another month before I get a chance to touch it. May is my busiest month with work and life. Then I go on vacation in mid June to Dominican Republic for 8 days. So I hope to have it moving under its own power by August. Then maybe a mini tube and a different front clip come winter......idk

Well I scrapped the idea of a tig welder and ordered up a mustang II bare clip from lakeshore fabrication. I spoke with Kevin who owns lakeshore in Missouri, and he informed me that he builds all of the nova clips and mustang II crossmembers for speedway and they sell them as there own.

Long story short, it's $450 + shipping to get it. He's gonna call me tomorrow with a shipping quote.

Figured if I buy it bare I can find some a arms and spindals and everything as I go.

If I have the clip sitting in my garage I'm pretty much forcing myself to go with a m2 clip. It's gonna be so much easier to go with big brakes and do a whole pro touring setup with the m2 setup.

Ok so my nova is a unibody. Like a honda. My front end/frame unbolts at the firewall with about 8 bolts. The stock chevy suspention really limits what you have for room, and the handling is sub par compared to most newer cars.

So what the hotrod people have been doing for years is take the mustang II crossmember and everything attached to it and put it in there cars. Makes for alot more room and can be made to handle really well.

So instead of just cutting out all my suspention like mor hot rods have, I bough a whole new front frame with a new mustang II crossmember already welded in. But it's bare so it doesn't come with any a arms or rack and pinion or anytime like that.
