Ok so my nova is a unibody. Like a honda. My front end/frame unbolts at the firewall with about 8 bolts. The stock chevy suspention really limits what you have for room, and the handling is sub par compared to most newer cars.
So what the hotrod people have been doing for years is take the mustang II crossmember and everything attached to it and put it in there cars. Makes for alot more room and can be made to handle really well.
So instead of just cutting out all my suspention like mor hot rods have, I bough a whole new front frame with a new mustang II crossmember already welded in. But it's bare so it doesn't come with any a arms or rack and pinion or anytime like that.
Looks like this
This is how much room there is with a ls in my engine bay stock

And this is with a mustang II front clip installed
Don't look like much but it's like night and day in person.
