yeah dude. sucks. when I did the stuff Sunday I'm in jeans and light jacket with my kneepads on. test fitting and tack welding shit up. was kinda warm lol. I'm planning on getting up somewhat early tomorrow and welding most or all those pipes up before it gets 80°+ out.

maybe some down pipe fab?? but I don't have my exhaust. so I don't know where I want to point it. would like to get this shit finished up this weekend.

still need a 2.5-3bar map sensor cuz I got fucked on the one I bought. and need to get my tune going... AEM or crome. not sure yet. haven't fucked with that at all in weeks.

i found that gasket btw

if anyone needs the part number

always hard to get a picture of a flat black anything. lol.  O0

chargepipe is still a little wet. i like the way it turned out though. i thought i was gonna have to get ghetto with some cuts to get it where i wanted, but turned out pretty easy.
not the first choice for BOV placement either. but wanted to make sure i had hood clearance.

first fitting of turbo shit on the car.

oh yeah. so i havent posted this shit yet.

manifold: $50 from a buddy. he said he got it clearance sale from XS Engineering? idk. whatever. its a cast manifold for T3 turbo and tial 35/38 and tial 40 it looks like?

turbo: $217 GSP 57trim wannabe strait from china... i took the angle grinder to it and removed the GSP/tags/etc off it the best i could. i picked this turbo cuz it measured slightly larger than the one that was on the EK.... oh and of course  :Jew:

wastegate: $50  :Jew: Turbonetics Evolution 35/38mm... buddy had this thing around forever, finally talked him into donating it to my project lol. i guess they started making these after they realized how shitty the deltacreepers where and how nice the TiAL units are... so this is the "evolution"?.... ok, shit was cheap, i would have run a delta creep if thats what he had...  ::)  this is suppose to be legit tho.

then i stopped taking pics. i got some decent downpipe fab done. got it pretty figured how i want it to go. gonna clear the AC compressor and shit.

STAY TUNED! WHITEY BENDS, FLUX CORE, AND SOME BALLER SHIT COMING....

EH2 Civic has a tailgate, therefor its a truck... and with it being a truck it will haul parts, including full exhausts...

 :mexi:

so full 3" exhaust with little cat, big resonator. and V-banded Magnaflow muffler. Hallman MBC, and a couple other random misc shit i swiped while i was at it.

put the exhaust on...well i tired. looks like the fucker is about 3" too long. so yeah. ill have to shorten it eventually, dont really give a shit at the moment. ill drive it like that.

more coming soon. now that i have my exhaust and oil drain for turbo i can finish my downpipe, make a dumptube, clean all this shit and final install....hopefully... lol.

ok, so could days off. so i started working on finishing this thing...

wasnt gonna touch the muffler, but the exhaust kinda needed it to be solid and not change direction everytime i tried to hook a downpipe to it.

whitey bends!

fluxed up  O0

the hotside charge pipe. and the downpipe finished up, painted, and exhaust wrapped.

oh yeah, decided to paint the compressor housing. why and look, the stock AC fan tucked right in there just fine. so sweet.

thats all the pics. so yeah, final assembly is in progress.

well shit didnt go back together as well or as fast as i thought it should. had some interference issues. everything seemed to fit money individually, but when you put them all together, shits in the way  ::) ::) ::)

oh...

this turned out to be a pain in my ass.

 :-*

drives fine. way the fuck better than my beater ass CX. its cool/comfortable driving around in a stock car, but i love driving around in my DC. idk how to explain, just a way better driving experience, but also not really needed every day...make sense? cuz it doesnt to me, but it does... :?:

its got super response that i felt the NA B20 was missing, comes up into boost quick.  ;DDD then hits a fuckin WALL of fuel at like 4psi  :-\ :-X :'(.... so it needs some tuning forsure. keep taking fuel out, but still pegging WB "rich"... CROME <~ still sucks.  not doing its trace thing in boost. would be awesome if this worked all the time, no not at all (sometimes it doesnt tho).

couple more parts to install...

did this one first.

then re-wired the fuel pump

swapped in 3bar map sensor from DIY Tuning.

then just uploaded the last map from the EK.... went out and did some tuning. seems to need a fair amount of tweaking. but im trying to dial it in...

oh. detcan... i should take a pic of my setup. its just a simple stethoscope with a barbed fitting with some 5/16 hose to another barbed fitting in the back of the head... but not hearing any ping with my B18B timing map unchanged.

crome pro... im getting map traces today. i changed it to 4cell, and getting decent hits all the way up to 6.8psi.

NEEDS MORE BOOST.... B-series + 7psi = "....get ya to work and back"  ::)

i expect to get my power in the 12psi range, but probably gonna tune it into the 15psi range...if there is traction that can be had on the street.... and when i say my power, i mean just that. i dont know what the numbers will be, or care. probably spin both tires threw 2nd, struggle in 3rd...?

ok. little concern...

so on a warm startup. like i go to lunch or hit the store up on the way home, stop. then come back out, it is a BITCH to start sometimes. like cranks and cranks. kinda maybe deadhole, maybe just ignition way off or no spark. only notice it when warm/hot. seems to fire off without issue on a cold start.

pulled the plugs. they all look good. clean burn. smell maybe hot?

compression test yielded numbers about 10psi lower on ever cylinder than the numbers i got after timing belt thing. have done lots of listening with stethoscope under load/boost. never heard it ping.

fuck.

Look nice. Sounds nice. Tweak tweak.
Is your intake air temp hooked up? Working? No code?
Km guessing that's what AIT is.
Congrats on getting her moving.
Now do you want to sell your stock wing for the CX. Just a question. Guy up here wants one. :)

so I remembered that I had a log from the other day. I recorded like 53min lol. anyway lowest temp I'm noticing is 92°F for air temp. looks like I was cruising at freeway speeds for a while. coolant temps 174° 3119rpm.  then up to 130ish when idling for a couple mins.

it hasn't been hot out. it was probably 65-70° Thursday when I was driving around?

swapped AIT sensors.... still shoots up to 130+ after sitting or idle for a couple mins...

SO I HAVE A HUGE HEAT SOAK ISSUE.... any LEGITIMATE suggestions? im not cutting fuckin holes in my hood or shit like that.

COMPRESSION: 175 - 175- 170 - 180.... 4-3-2-1... this is on a stone cold engine. its 66* with 59% humidity (according to my accuweather), elevation of 250ft or so.

130° ain't that bad. I've seen much worse. Heat wrap your shit up. Other than that if you let it heat soak and them start driving after a few what's your temps?

looks like at 133* crome pulls 3* of timing... makes it a bitch to start..... well i assume thats why its being a bitch to start... like a couple times it REFUSED TO START... like im seriously surprised it started before i killed the battery cranking.

just took it for a drive and its 65* or so outside right now... temps into the 120 range, seem to go down to mid/high 90s. drove it 5miles or so down the road and back... 45mph or so in 5th gear. couple little tip in's.

when i turned around i jumped out real quick and grabbed the charge pipe, and it was cool to the touch. but still showing 95* or so on crome.

btw. coolant temps will drop all the way to the thermostat at 174* or so. it doesnt seem to have a problem doing that at all.

but come back, let it idle for a couple mins, and the fan is coming on at 195, and IAT's are on the climb to 120+

crome shows the timing retard for IAT's to be at 100* F...

radiator seems to be working fine, fans working fine (one is noisy as shit tho), intercooler seems to be working ok... swapped IAT's so i assume that is working.

so... idk, am i over thinking this? even if that is true, im not imagining this hard start issue thats for damn sure. fucker gets harder to start the hotter it is.

downpipe is header wrapped till it starts to go under the pan... i am short on clearance on the hot side pipe, but would like to wrap that. no real way to wrap the manifold? and i dont think wrapping the upper pipe is gonna do much? maybe. but i dont think so.

i installed an air filter... and i made a little shield that blocks it from the radiator fan, open on the engine/trans side of things.... that was installed on the test drive above. see how that works out in the long run...

RHMT DYNO DAY 2014  O0

290whp 258ft tq @ 13psi...  ;DDD ;DDD

oh yeah there is forsure more in it. hell i was planning on 15psi or so, but after the first pull in the 11psi range, the power was there, so for once i decided to be conservative on power (still a fair amount). Dave said the timing map was solid, no ping, not even after he tried. so its time to beat the piss out of it and enjoy...

I had IAT of 150 yesterday and it was 85 out here. Normal if its 60 i run around 130 just sitting. I'm thinking about removing a high beam or putting washers in he hood to lift it up near the windshield to let the heat escape.
