By the way, I passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam with an 86, and I'll be attending Radford University in the Fall to earn my MBA.  So thanks for everyone wishing me the luck, it actually paid off.  Now hopefully I can get this car put together and hopefully run in the 8's on street tires at the local 1/8th mile strip

Update

3 out of 4 ain't bad

Finished, and don't worry Hotrex, the threaded part wasn't hard to weld to at all

Just need to get rid of the slag and clean it up a bit

Anyone have any suggestions for a high temp paint that will actually stay after use?

im sort of a newb in the welding department, what are the strength differences between what you have hear and say something tig welded? i can mig weld and id like to make my own manifold but im not sure if id just be wasting the money if the thing is going to crack every 10 mins.

You can have something crack no matter what process you use.  If it is a quality welding job (i.e. proper filler material, proper voltage or amperage setting, proper flux or shielding gas) then it doesn't matter what type of welding takes place.  I have the ability to arc weld, and that's what I feel the most comfortable with so that's what I used.

I feel sure there is a more technical answer, but for what I'm doing and probably what you would be doing, how you weld is way more important than what you weld with.

As for paint, I'm running some 2000 *F header paint from Advanced. Shit works great. Just follow the directions on the can. I believe it's VHT brand. Painted my manifold, turbine, and downpipe and they're all holding up fine so far. Sick build BTW.

Huge 23 lb. intercooler bought off ApexSilver06MR for 100 bones shipped.  Great guy, great transaction.  It's in used shape but thats fine with me.  I plan on straightening out the bent fins when I get some free time

I had a bumber from a previous build that had most of the back cut out, just had to trim a little lower and it fits like a glove.  And of course, it started pouring right as I was finishing up

I had to remove the bumper support, trim the lower raidator support, and trim the upper rad/hood support to get it to fit like I wanted.  Here's a shot of how I attached it to the chassis.  I was pleased with how it turned out

Thats all for now.  Plan on starting the charge piping soon.  I need a HX/HY-35 outlet flange with a 3" hole so I can make an exhaust.  The other option is if someone has a 2.5" v-band assembly for cheap or even a used one foot pipe with the 2.5" v-band on it I'd be able to use the stock cast outlet flange.  Let me know what you got.

do me a favor? see that relay hanging of the back side of your drivers headlight? remove it and the wiring that attaches to it... just fallow it till it hits the harness on the pass side, save you 2lbs ::) and look cleaner since its for AC, and you dont have it...

btw looks ghetto, congrats...

It's on my to do list.  I was worried they were to something else other than the A/C and was going to look it up first but with the tip I'll just go ahead and remove it

This just in:

Turbo doesn't spin at idle!  Can't wait to see what it does at 8k.  My camera broke so I've been taking pictures with this other camera that I don't have a cable for.  Turbo is on the car and getting oil, an 'exhaust' is on the car, charge piping and bov are on the car, only thing I have left is injectors/resistor box/tune.  The wideband sensor is there, just haven't got the controller hooked up yet.  Better update soon.

Turbo on and waiting for DP

Shot of the IC with the bumper off

Part of the cold side IC piping

BOV as close as I could get it to the TB

WIER flange, just needed tapped

The 200 amp drill bit

Post die grinder action

That is all for now, gotta get pictures of the oil line and return as well as the exhaust and hot side IC piping

Got a question about these Precision 880 injectors.  Any help is most appreciated

They aren't as long as the stockers, are they cool to use?  Should I just get rid of those black plastic spacers and use flat washers until the fuel rail sits flush?  Also, I'm guessing I don't need that brown o-ring, right?

What have we here?  An excellent idea taken from a fellow rHMTer

Cutting boards make great gauge bezels.  I'm out of flat black rattle can magic so it's white until I go to the store again.  Gotta love inches of Hg egay boost gauges

Other useful thing I did today, dodge garage BOV mod.  On a scale of 1-10, it was an 3 for difficulty.  I'll let you know how it works soon enough

Resistor box was installed today as well as getting power to the wideband and running its ground to the t-stat housing.  One day I'd love to take apart the case on the PLX and some how make the lcd display fit into where the stock clock is, or should be, CX doesn't have that luxury item

injectors look same rail to mani length to me ???

Should be close because of that black slever or whatever it is on top of the stockers that crush when you tighten them down.  The 880 don't stick so far into the manifold.  Do they make it up with spray pattern?

Well I'm going to give it a shot, and if it doesn't work then I'll just hook a vac line from the turbo to the port I added.

After playing around in crome for an hour, the car idles fine with the 880.  A little rich once the car warms up but 13 afr isn't horrible.  The problems I'm having I think can be attributed to the lack of preset injector battery offsets in the latest version of Crome.  I'm having to guess and test and right now I've got it idling decent with a 60 off set in the Fuel Table.

Does anyone know where I can find a fairly accurate offset value for the Precision 880s?  Should I find an older version of Crome and use those?  I'm a noob when it comes to tuning.
