cross your fingers fuckers... lol

shits back together. belt has lots of tension, fucker is TIGHT. tensioner is set in its correct place. is clean and spins freely. water pump spins free.

head has no plugs in it. so i just hit the key and let her spin. put her at TDC. looked good. same tension. hit key again and just let her spin, maybe 10 cranks? still all good  :noel:

its dark now, mosquito are trying to eat me alive...

also. was talking to my mom at dinner. her car had been having issues. turns out timing belt broke. like 96 nissan quest. she said this is like her 4th or something that has broken over her years driving. no catastrophic failures. just re-belt and go.... go i guess it runs in the family lol...

blah blah blah
Nissan Quest one of those shitty ones you gotta remove the engine mount to get to?

Also does your mom know the difference between a serpentine drive belt and a timing belt?

Serpentine belt falls off and the alternator stops charging the battery, car dies and won't run shortly after.
Just pointing out that her car not running doesn't mean it wasn't a serpentine belt

i did a compression test. was like 170-180psi across... if i remember right the CRX was ~180 across on a low comp B20 also, think it had smaller cams.

to add to the death toll, i came home on saturday and was fucking with the AEM, and spark disappeared!?!?! figured that homo aftermarket coil that litterly said "OEM" on it went bad (matter of time). well the fucker was STUPID HOT. engine temp was only 107*, and it was loose your fingerprint hot for just a tap on it. was bulging and maybe leaking?.... awesome.  :o

swapped it out and fired right off. then after some messing with the AEM again on sunday, think i figured out something. then it went from almost firing off, to loosing spark again?? swap in stock ECU and it fires right off...on 3 cylinders... left the one plug wire off lol.
so idk wtf is going on with this box (seems to be the same thing the GVR4 box is doing).

oh, and the 3bar MAP sensor i bought turns out to be a fuckin stock replacement. which is what i was fucking with on saturday night.    waiting to hear back from those assholes.

so ~10psi and CROME...awesome... cant wait...  ::)

despite all that... i ordered like 294bucks of shit...

Where is Lee?

idk. haven't called him yet... I want to tune the car myself, and on AEM. but the fucker won't work on either car. both are having a no spark issue. so I would assume its something I'm doing? but no fuckin idea.

Dave said AEM = retail by the hour.... think he was being nice and saying no AEM tune lol.

I don't like CROME. I can do a map on it. just don't like it.

ostrich cable apparently has been taking a big shit on me. almost stranded my ass on the freeway in morning traffic today... awesome.... wonder how many other little issues have been caused by that...

want to just throw this shit away.

ordered a cable..  $16... for a system I barely use, and don't want to... awesome. and I had velcroed the ostrich to the top of the ecu case and taped up the cable so there wasn't a lot of unnecessary movement in the setup... seems to have worked great... ::)

I got the shorter 6" cable as replacement.

BTW. thinking that this "timing belt" issue started with this piece of shit. and a possible stupid newb oversite on my part? maybe. idk. kinda pissed at the moment.

Haha. Could it be the AEM unit is bad itself? Something crossed or fried inside. Didn't I read you got it from someone.
Luckily my j11? I think it is.
The one that reads off chip or stock ecu has a quick release so if ( it did today ) it goes into dumb mode or laptop dies or ostrich blahs. I can pull that pin and vroom home ;)
Best of luck doode. The coil frying shit is crazy. Specially on two different cars.

i bought it off ebay. so who the fuck knows... actually no, i got it to fire off and run for a couple seconds in my buddies 00 Si.

The coil frying shit is crazy. Specially on two different cars.
it only happened on the Integra.... i just have what seems like the same/similar no spark issue with both the DC4 and GVR4.

oh here is the coil:

it was not being photogenic. but you can see on the top where it is budging/melted...  :o

and crome is garbage/outdated. not to mention the tumors growing off my ecu with lots of cables that are failing...

those are what I got.

I like how AEM is setup. I like the features.... crome is the opposite. shit seems scattered and hard to find (if it even works when you find it)...

someone buy my AEM box and I'll buy Neptune.  :-*

all that means little...

most my shit should be here before through weekend. I'll be for sure missing my exhaust transition for the downpipe tho. plan to get the charge pipes mocked.
but probably gonna get fucked with working Saturday and have split days off again.

TURBO FAB....  :noel:

EMUSA 27x7x2.5? intercooler. and a bunch of Mishimoto black couplers.

this is most of my order from Columbia. i have a handful of flanges somewhere else. i also dug threw my scraps and threw them in there just in case.

intercooler getting mocked up... took the bumper beam out cuz it was fuckin tweaked. took the headlight out cuz it was tweaked enough where i was afraid to hit the headlight when i tried beating on it and removing it.
so not sure wtf im gonna do about that? probably nothing. fuckit.

intercooler is actually bolted to the car... not sure i have ever done that before? its usually sitting on something, held up by the chargepipes, zip ties, etc...

intercooler will be painted black before final assembly...  O0

bumper cover took the ever so slightest bit of trimming. there where a couple little useless tabs on the back that bumped the end tanks.

then i started cutting up all the pipes i just bought....and didnt take a single pic. lol. i think i was in the zone. should turn out pretty nice, i think. just all loosely fabbed up. need to get some brake cleaner to clean the pipes before welding them up.

more later...

So why did you pull the headlight again? And it will need to be replaced yes? Haha

this car was rear ended before. and when it was it looks like it was pushed into something else also, probably a trailer hitch? and it tweaked the crash beam. it was a cunt hair from the headlight when i pulled the bumper off. so i pulled the headlight to get it out of the way. then just removed the beam.

you can see the scar on the bumper below the inner light in the pics.

both headlights need sanded and buffed as they are weathered, but other than that they are fine.

oh, and i have a replacement oem bumper and lip for this.. just waiting to get them painted.

ok...more...

hotside of chargepipes...

gonna look about like this. i used 2" pipe on this side.

on the car

and this is why i run 2" pipe. much easier to snake around cool shit like washer tank, AC compressor, traction bar, etc...

cold side pipes

like i said before i cut these up earlier.

thats x2 180*, and a 90*... all where cut in the center. then i trimmed a couple to my liking.

sun was making picture taking difficult

looking good...

oh yeah, i mention im running a 1g DSM BOV? cuz i am. i have a brand new OEM gasket around here somewhere for it (these are less than 2bucks). this one is slightly crushed... by crushed, i mean i hit it with my mallet a couple times. add more as needed :P

btw. fuck T-bolt clamps.

these work fine. got them at Home Depot. like 15bucks for all of them. i have used them on the ITR, CRX, EK, GVR4, etc... just buy 3" ones, and trim the extra off.

then i figured i was about done for that.

realized that i hadnt put some RHMT stickers on my car. so posted them up...

since i was working on the outside of the car...

not sure if you can see that from the other pics i have posted, but the headlights look like SHIT.

oh yeah, sexy now.  8)

i used the 3M headlight kit. was like 18bucks. hit it with a couple levels of wet/dry sand paper (wet), then buffed it out with the supplied buffer pad on my drill. also had some rubbing compound in the package, i used that, but i have used (and still have a bunch) Meguirs PlastiX.

thats it. think im done for the day. might go do some welding to the pipes, but you get the idea...
